Christchurch Sporting Sector...

The Christchurch Earthquakes of September 2010 and Feb 2011 may seem like a memory for much of NZ, but for Christchurch the tension remains. One area this tension is still felt is the sporting sector.

Sports have made do - with less than ideal facilities for a considerable period of time. In addition to insurance issues, co-ordinators and CEO's have had to make temporary arrangements, while also juggling issues around the future of their sport. There is an understanding that significant community assets and facilities take time to build and undergo the due processes. However, it is clear that the tension remains and there is a clear desire from the sports themselves and the wider community, to see progress towards future plans.

This is an exciting opportunity for many sports. And it has taken a couple of years to gain some certainty around future plans and enable sports to make the shift of mind-set from "how can we fix it / make things just like they were before", to a mind-set more comfortable with the prospect of change and opportunity.

As with many businesses ventures, maintaining the momentum and heartfelt support for future activities is key.

If you have a project or business venture which is taking a while to come to fruition, we can help ensure it stays on track, remove some of the frustration and help you strategically plan your next steps towards the end goal.

Feel free to give me a call on (03) 477 8777. Happy to talk through how we might be able to help. I look forward to hearing from you.
