Lindsay Dey

Managing Director / Chartered Accountant

Lindsay Dey

With over 25 years helping people make the big decisions when it comes to business and money issues... you could say accounting is in Lindsay’s blood. It is a tool which he has, and continues to use to help a huge range of people.

"When people walk in my door, my first question is always “how can we help?”…

It’s a simple question and one which continues to inspire me about what we do. Every day we are privileged to help people grow their businesses, establish sound personal financial structures and assist a huge range of community and sporting organisations. But at the heart of it all, is a consideration for their bigger picture strategic and lifestyle objectives."

As Henry Ford once said “It is a poor business that makes nothing but money”.

Lindsay is a big picture thinker with considerable experience in helping grow businesses and establish significant community facilities. His professional resume includes over 25 years accounting, consulting and management experience, as well as 10 years involvement in tertiary business education. He has served as Chairman of Horwath International Training, Executive Director of Sports Medicine NZ and 6 years as Chairman of Sport Otago.

Some highlights to date include:

  • Helping a small backpack accommodation provider grow from a couple of buildings to its current position of one of the largest in New Zealand;
  • Having key roles in helping establish both the Edgar Centre (at the time the biggest single building sports facility in the southern hemisphere) and NZ first sports trust (Sport Otago);
  • Helping multiple individuals refine their ideas, form solid strategies and launch successful businesses;
  • Taking on new clients who have got themselves into a bit of strife with regard to tax and money issues. Being able help put in place arrangements to enable them overcome the chaos and worry that had developed, and regain control of finances and businesses has been a highlight;
  • Helping clients save hundreds of thousands of dollars and empowering them to make wise decisions to achieve their overall objectives.

Lindsay’s passion for sport is clear via his involvement in top level triathlon, duathlon, hockey, multisport, running and cycling, as both coach and competitor. In addition he is active in his service to the wider community via contribution to multiple boards and involvement in Rotary.

With in-depth knowledge in multiple fields, a wide ranging skill base, plus financial and leadership abilities, Lindsay is not your traditional accountant.

Having grown up in NZ I really value Kiwi hospitality and making people feel welcome. And being born in South Korea has helped me develop a strong understanding of people from all backgrounds."

From making people feel at home, to supporting the rest of the team in the day to day running of the office, Beth is an important link in the chain. We hope you will have the chance to get to know her as we have.

Beth has a BA in Psychology and Education from Auckland University and a certificate in Business Administration.

Beth is the first point of contact for all communication into the office.
